| This is a picture of the sign at Danny's, the pizza place in our town. It's owned by Danny Malley, a very nice guy who was really great when the Velvets got into the Hall of Lame. As you can see, he put up this sign, but he also contacted a few big newspapers (Atlanta, Jacksonville) and Albany, Ga. TV station, which sent a little crew to my house for an interview! He even hosted an autograph party at his restaurant and the teenage staff made me a heart-shaped pizza!! I went on a trip for some reason a short time later and when I returned he had a thing (for lack of a better word) made which has (framed) the banana album, a hall of fame dinner ticket I had given him, and a very nice placque explaning the whole deal. So thanks Danny, I REALLY appreciate your thoughtfulness. |

This photo was taken in front of Sterling's house in October of 1994. We were on tour and had stopped there to get a fine meal (cooked by his wife, Martha) and to drop off some laundry which Martha very kindly took care for us! From left-right are: Victor DeLorenzo (playing drums with us on this tour), Sonny Vincent - guitar; John Sluggett (my usual drummer, but playing bass this time because Danny couldn't be with us); Martha; Sterl; Moe. This was Sterl's last tour with us. Go to the next page... Go back to the bio... |
