This track was recorded for a small record company (Veracity) in Germany to be used on a compilation called "Love Is My Only Crime". It was recorded in a "studio" here in Douglas. It was QUITE an experience!! The studio was in a room which had been added onto the house, without benefit of soundproofing. During the entire time we were recording we could hear-quite clearly-the rest of the family spending their Sunday together!! Laughing, talking, eating. Oh, well, what the hell. At one point we had to wait while a train went by, and later the engineer had to go ask his neighbor to please mow the lawn on the OTHER side of his house because it was so loud in the studio! My daugher Kate plays violin and saxophone on this track, and if you listen very closely you can hear the violin bow hitting the window of the so-called vocal booth (the door wouldnt even close!), and the mic stand. Kate cringes whenever I play this. She was only 14 at the time we recorded it, had never had a violin lesson, and of course had not practiced her part thoroughly before we went to the studio. I guess she's actually appalled at her performance, but I love it!
